Independent and Neutral Initiative

The Geneva Charter of Sovereignty is an independent, neutral, and non aligned initiative based in Switzerland. It operates without mandate from any government, institution, or political body. The Charter is voluntary in nature and does not seek to create legal obligations for any state or participant.

No Affiliation With the United Nations or Other Organisations

The Geneva Charter of Sovereignty is not affiliated with the United Nations, its agencies, specialised bodies, or any other international organisation. References to the UN Charter or multilateral principles are made solely for educational and descriptive purposes, in recognition of their importance for international peace and cooperation.

The use of the name Geneva reflects only the city’s tradition of neutrality and dialogue. It must not be interpreted as indicating sponsorship, endorsement, or association by Swiss authorities or Geneva based institutions.

Purpose of the Geneva Charter

The Geneva Charter of Sovereignty provides a platform for voluntary reflection on the challenges created by global interdependence. It supports constructive dialogue on sovereign equality and responsible interstate conduct. Participation in the initiative has no political significance, no legal effect, and no implications for membership in any organisation.

Intellectual and Operational Independence

All research materials, publications, and analytical papers released by the Geneva Charter Secretariat are produced independently. They do not represent the views of any state or organisation. Contributions from experts or observers are provided in a personal capacity unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Voluntary Participation

Engagement with the Geneva Charter is entirely voluntary. States, institutions, and experts may choose to participate in discussions, review materials, or offer comments at their own discretion. Such participation does not imply agreement with any specific principle or position and does not create obligations of any kind.
